Dr. W.D. Epperson, the well known veterinary surgeon, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette yesterday morning at 2:15 o'clock from acute bladder trouble. He was taken ill last Saturday and was taken to the hospital on Sunday. Dr. Epperson was 73 years old and was born near Hamilton, O. When he was five years old, his parenats moved to New Market, Montgomery County. Dr. Epperson prepared himself for his profession in Montgomery County and was located at Thorntown and Jamestown. In 1883 he went to Ottawa, Kansas and his family, wife and two sons, died while he was there. He came to Lafayette 11 years ago. In 1904 he was appointed milk and meat inspector for the city and served faithfully in that capacity until a year ago. Dr. Epperson enjoyed a good practice and was a very competent man. He was a Democrat, but was not partisan. He was a gentleman of the old school, courteous and dignified. He was well read, a man of much intelligence and was an agreeable companion. He was a man of strong character, good purpose and an honored citizen. He leaves three brothers and two sister, John J. Epperson of Advance; Edward Epperson of Champaign, Ill; Frank Epperson of Roachdale and Mrs. Cope and Mrs. Northcutt, of Crawfordsville. The remains will be taken to Ottawa for burial. - kbz

The body of Dr. WD Epperson arrived here yesterday afternoon on the afternoon train on the Missouri Pacific from Lafayette Ind where he had lived. Dr. Epperson died there in the St. Elizabeth Hospital Thursday morning. He had been ill since the Saturday before. He had lived there for the past 11 years, having lived here before that. He moved here in 1883 and was well known here among the old settlers. He was a veterinary surgeon. He was 73 years old and was born near Hamilton, Ohio. Dr. Epperson always took an active part in the affairs of the city here and in Lafayette after he moved there. At one time he was milk and meat inspector of Lafayette. He leaves three brother and two sisters, John J. Epperson of Andvance, Ind; Edward Epperson of Champaign, Ill; Frank Epperson of Roachdale, Ind and Mrs. Cope and Mrs. Northcutt of Crawfordsville, Ind.
